Antigoneis an important work by Sophocles, one of the three great ancient Greek tragedians. In the original drama, Antigone is Oedipus daughter who, despite the Kings prohibition, buries her brother who has betrayed the city-state, and commits suicide afterwards, while the obstinate King also suffers from the tragic fate of being left a broken family. A big-name Hong Kong director Tang Shu-wing adapted the script with great creativity, using a cast that is all female. Six young women separately read the script in little-known places, and are connected by a mysterious power. They imagine that they have entered the ancient Greek city-state, playing each character in it. The director believes that although most countries are not ruled by kings now, the desire for power has never changed. In the end we may find that each one of us could be Antigone
